My name is Jamie and I have been in the travel industry for 30 years.

In 1994 I began work as a junior travel consultant at Croydon Travel after completing a 2 year Associate Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

That same year I was awarded  as the best first year travel employee at the Australian Travel Awards.

It is now my huge honor to be the owner and manager of Croydon Travel as we celebrate 50 years of servicing our clients and being a trusted brand in the travel industry.

I love working with my clients to tailor make their amazing holidays plans. My experience in knowing the best cruise, airline, hotel, tours for each particular client and is something I pride myself on. Areas of expertise would be USA, Europe and South America. However I have been very privileged to plan holidays to virtually everywhere in the world. If I haven’t been there myself, I will find someone who has and give first hand knowledge and feedback.

My interest also is in cruising and the amazing experience of only unpacking once and exploring some many places.

I have travelled to over 75 countries and been very lucky to escort tour groups to all the major continents. My highlights would have to be Cuba, Peru, Alaska, Kenya and my personal favorite cruising the Kimberley from Darwin to Broome.

Over the past 10 years I have taken a real interest in family group travel. I have found multi generational time together to be a real highlight for all involved. Finding the perfect cruise, island getaway or group tour for a variety of age categories is now a real specialty of mine.

I still love travelling and now share that passion with my wife and two daughters.

During the covid times of 2020 it became apparent to me how important an experienced travel manager is for my clients as we negotiated airline changes, country entry requirements and of course refunds. My clients tell me that by having someone reliable they could contact and assist them gave them extreme confidence in my expertise.

I now look forward to making your travel dreams a reality.

My career in Travel began over 20 years ago, from V-Line Holidays to Australian Pacific Tours to Captains Choice Tours. For the past 10 years at Croydon Travel I have been able to bring my knowledge and passion for travel to clients to ensure their holiday experience is memorable and stress free. Whether you are on a budget or can indulge in the ultimate luxury, I have experience in all styles of travel.

I have been blessed to have travelled extensively and I try to get away at least once a year to somewhere I haven’t been before to update my knowledge and experience. Whether this is via a cruise, road trip or an escorted tour.

My latest travel adventures have been to Norway and Finland to see the Northern Lights and from Montreal to Key West in the United States via cruise and a road trip.  

Other destinations I have explored include Morocco, Tanzania, Namibia, Egypt, the Middle East, South Africa, most of Europe, Canada, India, Vietnam, Japan, China, Singapore, South Pacific Islands and many more.  

The way we travel has changed due to Covid-19. Navigating the world of airline rules, visas, tour operators, cross-borders, changing seasons, health precautions, visas as well as offering personal recommendation, service, care and compassion will give you confidence to know that your trip is in the hands of the right person.

Most of my working career has been in the travel industry.  I started at Croydon Travel in 1998 and after 15 years with Captain’s Choice am now back and looking forward to helping clients with their travel needs. There has never been a better time to book with an experienced travel specialist. 

I have been fortunate to have had many travel opportunities over many years. From African Safari and rail experiences to private jet charters of South America, Asia and India, or cruising the coastline of Japan, the mode of transport may differ, but the experience is always enriching. 

I have loved my family holidays to Japan and Hawaii of recent.  However, if I had to name a favorite it would be The Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia and The Atacama Desert in Chile due to the amazing scenery.   The beauty of travelling for me is the variety of choice.  My bucket list is never empty.
